High traffic, scalable web services design and development.Designed and wrote most of the initial implementation of BAE's Zero Day Prevention (http://www.baesystems.com/en-us/product/zero-day-prevention) product. Currently leading the engineering effort in continuing work on the product. The design is based on a microservices architecture where each service microservice pulls it's next work item from a queue. The services run in a VM on an ESXi cluster along with the sandbox VMs where samples are tested. There are currently 12 ESXi clusters with these services running behind a load balancer. The input to the services is a REST interface. The ZDP service is currently handling up to about 100,000 emails an hour at the busiest times with 100% uptime. Samples are sent to sandboxed VMs, where they are run and monitored for malicious activity.

2007-present Office of CTO, Innovation and Advanced Development work Original architect of several areas of the Locutus software project. Locutus provided a unified view of assets across multiple computers, websites and devices. It was mainly implemented in Microsoft .NET and used RDF as its database technology. This platform was planned to be the basis of many future Kodak products. Locutus designs included the overall network messaging plan, a general pluggable architecture for accessing assets on various systems and devices, and architecture for thread handling. Created a mobile web interface for viewing the virtual collection. Created an SOA style interface for calling the networking library that allowed future flexibility to be network agnosticCreated CMWeb - Color Management WebsiteCMWeb was created to allow Kodak users to access research color management algorithms through an internal website, which gave them access to a stable, supported release of the Matlab color management algorithms. It was implemented as 2 C#.NET websites – one was a standard web application, and the other ran stateless SOAP services, which handled the heavy backend processing. 2004 - Worked with Mobil Oil Company developing color management to upgrade their label printing operation for more complex image printing.1999 - Project lead, working with Kodak Professional group to write application software controlling professional level digital cameras. The application was called the Capture Application internally. It controlled the Kodak DCS Pro Back Plus, which was a 16 megapixel digital camera back for Mamiya, Contax, and Hasselblad professional cameras.10/1996 - 1999 - Application programming, using MFC/C++ in the color management group. Created custom controls for Kodak Colorflow Profile Editor (which was an application for editing ICC color profiles), that displayed specialized graphs of black level usage and other algorithmic information.

Developed initial version of a new “thin client” for Matrix (a PDM-database workflow product). The thin client was different from the regular client in that it was completely written in Java. The functionality of the thin client was planned to be similar to the exiting C++ Matrix client.Completely implemented and supported the “seamless interface” which connected Cadra to IBM mainframe CAD databases, transferred and converted CAD files, and allowed terminal emulation on the mainframe using tn3270 protocol. Ported the seamless interface to also communicate over DECNet/SNA, IRMALAN and Novell.Provided second level customer support when the customer support department needed additional help from engineering with difficult problems related to the IBM connectivity portion of the software. Traveled to customer sites when problems were not solvable over the phone. Conducted a training class on installation and support of the seamless interface in Japan.

Security clearance: SecretSoftware Engineer in CAD departmentWorked in engineering CAD group supporting manufacturing operations. Wrote software to take engineering design data and convert it to form usable by the electronics manufacturing groups.Wrote MIPs – An internal application for Wiring and Harness Manufacturing Department which ran on an MVS based IBM mainframe as a full screen application, It provided an easy way to import wiring data from the CAD group in Engineering, and made it available for editing by a user in the Manufacturing group. They could add information needed for manufacturing, such as load balancing and generating reports to use for building the harnesses without actually changing the original data, allowing updates from engineering as necessary. It was also often used to screen the engineering CAD for errors before they attempted to build anything. Views and reports for Operator Instructions, Cut Lists and Wire Labels.Systems Analyst in CAM departmentSupported manufacturing by designing and implementing internal software for use by Manufacturing. Supported electrical component assembly by adding to and rewriting the XPC system – a mainframe job that ran several processing steps to create setup instructions, graphics, pick lists, and punch taped output (to drive Numerical Control (NC) machines) for the PCB department. Eliminated the need for NC punch tapes by writing serial interface code that handled the communication protocol and uploaded the NC program data directly to the NC machine.
