Allowing your voice to be heard is one of life’s greatest gifts. You may be the world’s most innovative thinker, but if 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 your ideas are shrouded by anxiety and self-doubt, you cannot reach your potential. Regardless of your profession, a persona that is convincing and credible is your key to unlocking the doors to success. It’s what I’ve lived, and it’s what I’ve helped clients achieve through my bespoke one-on-one and corporate coaching services. My practical approach runs deeper than just public speaking. Yes, the ability to speak confidently, calmly and with gravitas is crucial to communicating your ideas and building authority, but there’s more to it. It’s about showing that you are leadership material, taking your seat at the table, and rewriting the script to build real confidence and have influence. The goal is to raise the profile of your position.Through online and in-person meetings, I get my clients to work through blockages so that they can reach heights they never thought possible. Even if they start at ground zero 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 – utterly vulnerable and almost throwing up from nervousness – I am right by their side, no judgement, no intimidation.I genuinely love what I do – journeying with my clients and watching them grow 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 and succeed 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. I’m lucky to work with industry experts and emerging leaders. Engineers, accountants, and other professionals come to me to learn how to pitch their ideas and present compelling business cases here and internationally. This isn’t just work for me. It’s personal. You know that song ‘Working Class Man’ by Jimmy Barnes? I’m from that suburb: Elizabeth, SA. It’s rougher than rough out there, I had a pretty hard childhood and had to grow up fast!I wasn’t a confident kid, but in my teenage years, I discovered how empowering hard work and achievement could be. I gained agency over my life and went on to become principal of the local high school, where I had to either command respect from 700 students or perish. I owned my authority and thrived – it was the start of a long career in education that included CEO, College Director positions, on Committees that advised ministers and the then prime minister, and now involves Masters level lecturing.Everyone deserves to overcome fear and be heard. Principal Consultant | DirectorWhat'S The Stuff Nov 2017 - PresentAdelaide, South Australia, AustraliaWhat are the two words you want to be known as? It can be a tough question to answer, but it’s the one I always start my process with. Why? Because it defines where you want to be and how you want to be perceived. From there, I build a tailored, practical strategy that helps you develop a credible and influential persona, that is both authentic and unique to you – I am NOT trying to make you into a mini-me 😉If the thought of public speaking makes you sick to your stomach; if you’re worried that others don’t see you as a leader; or if you feel your self-doubt is limiting your success, I am right here to help. No judgement. No intimidation. Just relatable advice and real-life tools you can use to rewrite the script.I work on a one-on-one basis with individuals that are preparing for job interviews, professional presentations, wedding speech or some other event. I help you manage your anxiety and teach you how to deal with challenging situations or people.I also work with businesses, either in groups, with executives, or one-on-one. Academic - Mba LecturerKaplan Nov 2017 - PresentMy career has been grounded in education. I teach at a Masters level to international students at Kaplan Business School, lecturing in People, Culture & Leadership; Strategy & Operations; and Emotional Intelligence, Cultural Intelligence & Diversity. It’s really the students’ feedback that shapes my teaching style. Lecturers are assessed on what’s called the SELT test: Student Evaluation of Learning and Teaching. Out of 5 possible points, I average 4.8 to 4.9 every trimester, which is tremendously rewarding.I’ve been able to keep this high level of student satisfaction through COVID-19 restrictions, during which I ran interactive and engaging sessions via Zoom 20 hours a week.I genuinely want my students to thrive – to be heard and understood in a country that is often foreign to them. In 2020, my passion and dedication were recognised with a nomination for a Kaplan Award. -
