I’m a passionate, highly motivated graphic designer, illustrator, photographer, digital and social communicator, with 24 years professional experience. I work in the Digital Communications Team at Devon County Council. Post graduation from Falmouth College of Arts in 2000 I worked in-house for Beside the Wave Gallery, Falmouth as a print and web designer, and digital and medium format photographer for artwork reproduced by The Art Group, IKEA and Habitat. In 2001 I moved to Guildford to design for Dynamite Design creating promotional material for companies such as Jongleurs and Australian Wine Labels. I also worked for Orlando Jewellers as an in-house designer and marketing coordinator creating new branding, seasonal promotional material, website, packaging and jewellery; In parallel I trained as a silversmith, framer and Royal Gemological Institute jewellery re-threader. I travelled to Baselworld, Switzerland to research international jewellery promotion and as a buyer. I moved back to Devon in 2006 to work for Stovax and Original Style as a graphic designer. Since 2007 I’ve had a number of design and communications positions at Devon County Council where I have been fortunate to have exciting projects and opportunities to design, engage and consult with the people of Devon to design information based on user need. I've been lucky to gain a plethora of new strengths at DCC including agile working, accessible design, plain English report and copy writing, team leadership skills, event and exhibition planning experience, web, user interface and user experience design - which have given me the edge to create exceptional communication materials. Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite's XD, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Good understanding of WordPress. Capable photographer with both SLR and DSLR. Sound social media skills.Constant design and illustration freelancer. Home renovator, obsessive gardener. Mum of two people and three cats. Always working!
