The DIRAC Institute (Data Intensive Research in Astrophysics and Cosmology) is a world leading, interdisciplinary research center that addresses fundamental questions about the origins and evolution of our universe. Our research brings together scientists across many disciplines on a mission to understand the nature of Dark Matter and Dark Energy, the emergence of structure within the universe, the formation of galaxies, the birth and evolution of black holes, the transformations of stars, and the origins of the planets.The DIRAC Advisory Board is responsible for providing strategic guidance to the executive leadership team of DIRAC Institute by promoting development and advancement of its mission, vision and values.

Member of the LINCC (LSST Interdisciplinary Network for Collaboration and Computing) Frameworks team, working at the intersection of state of the art computer science and cutting edge astrophysics. We're enabling science breakthroughs by Vera Rubin Observatory astronomy community through the development of cloud-based, petabyte-scale data analysis frameworks.Soon the Vera C. Rubin Observatory's Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) will produce an enormous and unique photometric dataset, both over the sky and over time. The astrophysics community aims to use this dataset to answer fundamental questions about cosmology, the evolution of structure in the universe, the astrophysics of compact objects, the origin of the periodic table, the formation of our Solar System, and even the potential menace of Earth orbit crossing objects.To answer such questions and many others, the team is designing and building a data analysis framework to store, search, and analyze petabytes of data which will be produced by the Vera Rubin Observatory.

In Jan 2022, we announced Amazon is building the software for Stellantis' next-gen digital cabin, giving them the flexibility to create custom, brand- and vehicle-specific capabilities. This software offers curated services and experiences, all displayed through an intelligent, adaptive user interface design that presents timely, relevant information and features suited to each occupant’s individual needs and preferences. The experience adapts to customers’ behaviors and interests, wherever their passions take them–from the start of a journey at home, on the road, or off.My responsibilities:* Executive lead for strategic partnership between Amazon and Stellantis, fourth-largest automaker globally.* Wrote the first working backwards document for Amazon's Automotive Digital Cabin offering, defining product, software, and business strategies and eventually getting it approved and funded by Jeff and Amazon S-Team.

Alexa can help you play music, get directions, place calls, listen to audiobooks, control your smart home, and more, with just your voice – so you can keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.My responsibilities:* Built and integrated Alexa Auto into vehicles from 23 different carmakers including Volkswagen, Toyota, GM, and Honda.* Launched Auto Mode in the Alexa Mobile app, used by customers with their Echo Auto or third-party Alexa-enabled device.* Scaled Alexa Local Search by leveraging machine learning to improve search quality, data conflation, and expand internationally.* Created new Alexa Automotive Domains for Car Control, Navigation, and Commute experiences, driving repeat customer engagement.

Amazon S3 is the world's largest commercial storage system, storing exabytes of data, trillions of objects, and serving millions of transactions per second. Amazon S3 Storage Management & Machine Learning uses data science and machine learning to analyze petabytes of data every day in order to help customers understand the data they have stored in AWS, how their data is being accessed, and gives customers the tools they need to manage their data at scale.My responsibilities:* Defined the vision for S3 Storage Management: Invent new storage insights for S3 customers to give them an understanding of their S3 usage and automate storage management.* Launched S3 Storage Insights, which included Storage Class Analysis, Object Tags, 1-minute CloudWatch Metrics for S3, CloudTrail Data Events for S3, and S3 Inventory.

I joined the Fire phone project in its infancy and was given the challenge that "we are building a phone and we don't have Google Maps, so what do we do?" With that charter, I built the strategy, the vision, and the organization that delivered the Amazon Maps app and Amazon Maps API for Fire Phone and Fire Tablets.My responsibilities:* Defined strategy and customer experience for Amazon Maps on Fire phone and Fire tablets.* Launched Amazon Maps as showcase experience of Fire Phone's Dynamic Perspective feature that Jeff demoed on stage.* Integrated Amazon Maps into Last Mile Transportation, enabling route planning for millions of packages and navigation for our thousands of last mile delivery drivers.

Amazon Customer Returns manages all aspects of reverse logistics, making returns easy for customers. My responsibilities:* Owned Online Returns Center on all Amazon retail websites worldwide and back-end distributed systems to support returns processing within Amazon Fulfillment Centers.* Processed refunds, replacements, and exchanges, with a focus on reducing "Time to Refund" for customers with new initiatives like "Returnless Refunds."

Amazon Transportation Technology manages all aspects of moving inventory in and out of Amazon Fulfillment Centers worldwide. My responsibilities:* Owned "Track Your Package" on all Amazon retail websites to provide real-time package tracking information to customers daily.* Defined and launched shipment tracking notifications which sends a text message or push notification to customers when their package is shipped, delayed, or delivered.

Proximities was a startup focused on RFID Cashless Payment with NASCAR as the lead investor. Guests at a venue or event linked our patented and secure RFID wristband to their credit card and then used their wristband to purchase anything in the venue.My responsibilities:* Launched RFID cashless payment system at NASCAR race tracks and Wet & Wild water park.* Built custom plugins to integrate RFID Wristband payments into Point of Sale terminals and cash registers.

RadioSoft builds radio propagation analysis software for AM, FM, and TV radio engineers.My responsibilities:* Designed, built, and launched RadioCompass, enabling radio engineers to find available spectrum and file applications with the FCC.

Lockheed Martin Space Operations was the prime contractor developing the Checkout & Launch Control System (CLCS) which was scheduled to replace 1970's launch control system before the program was canceled.My responsibilities:* Developed human spaceflight software operational in Orbital Processing Facility (OPF).* Supported CLCS testing in Firing Room #2.

Tantivy was a wireless startup building the first generation of wireless data modems. My responsibilities:* System design, architecture, and development of backend system that managed authentication and access control of wireless data modems, base stations, and end users.

Harris is an international communications and information technology company serving government and commercial markets.My responsibilities:* Designed and implemented a network packet analysis and session reconstruction tool.* Developer on FAA flight planning tool for private pilots, overlaying real-time weather data onto flight plans.

PATlive (previously Concord Communications) provides virtual receptionists and call answering services. My responsibilities:* Designed and implemented time tracking and reporting application for employee payroll.* Developer on customer billing solution.
