I have a passion for Business Intelligence and the transformation of data into information whether it is through the more traditional Data Warehouse architectures using data vaults / IBM industry models, Kimball, DIY models or the exiting and challenging NoSql solutions. I enjoy challenges and thrive in complex situations while I always look to the horizon to be able to know where we are, and where need to go. As an architect I feel it is my obligation to get my hands dirty in various roles and dig through nitty gritty technical details to understand what can be done. As a result I am well versed in the use of ETL tools (Data stage, Power center, SSIS and OWB) on different platforms (Unix, Windows) with the support of many databases (Oracle, Db2 and SQL Server) and in quite a lot of source code (strong in VB, .Net, and some PL, C# and C++). While getting my hands dirty I have performed many different roles (developer, design, test, requirements gathering as business consultant, solution architect, information architect and test architect) in an agile and traditional setting. I enjoy to lead by example and help wherever and however possible whether it is automating something to fit in a more agile approach or hands on pushing buttons to make the wheel go round.
