Working as a hard labourer, installing PV Panels on roofs of variable heights, was a great experience as I gained resilience to laziness. It showed me the meaning of consistently working at my highest capacity physically and mentally. I also taught myself how to work with the less as well as the highly educated. It was the first time I could make use of the Electrical theory I gained whilst studying Mechanical Engineering (Electrical 1,2 & 3). It gave me the chance to understand how electricity and electrical components operates through practical application. With my technical background it was a breeze to make the necessary calculations and planning for the layout of the panel strings to make up the farms. 2 valuable skills that I gained is the ability to work efficiently with my hands and to come to practical solutions on the spot. Working for Solar 5 Engineering Solutions was educating in variable fields, as I gained a lot of practical experience, as well as communication experience regarding labourers, engineers, technicians and clients. I feel it was the last piece of the puzzle for me to be prepared for corporate world.
