I was part of the API Squad. We operated the API Gateway, and I developed APIs using Java and Spring. Storage was primarily handled by MySql.I was involved with the back-end development and supported the launch of the Impact.com Mobile App.I improved the visibility and alerting around our API traffic and I created various dashboards to better understand the traffic flow, identify bad integrations, and set up hard and soft alerts.I started documentation around our day to day operations to better share the knowledge amongst team members.

I performed manual QA testing of features and developed automated API tests with Rest Assured and Java.I undertook the following initiatives to greatly improve the pass rate of the Automated test suite:- Identify and rectify problem areas for test data.- Improve test isolation so that tests are not dependent on one another.- Update the API test framework to reduce flaky tests by improving the handling of queueing in various parts of the system.

I was the QA on wiGroup's transactional platform that has processed several Billion Rands over millions of transactions.My role required me to: Test new functionality that was being added to the wiGroup transactional platform. Test multiple systems that were hosted on AWS, as well as the interaction between them. Improve on the existing QA automation framework that was used for functional and scenario testing. Build and maintain automated test packs. Prevent bugs and provide feedback during the feature design phase. Report and track bugs and ensure that they are fixed. Effort estimation and feedback on timelines.I used ReadyApi and supporting Groovy Scripts to build the automated test packs. The systems that I tested used SOAP and REST API requests, and I used SQL and NoSQL queries for end-to-end validation.

I performed technical customer facing support that entailed:• In depth analysis of server logs and database entries to troubleshoot issues.• Ad-hoc reporting via custom SQL queries on MySQL databases.• Performing ad-hoc tasks to support customers and internal staff.

Joined the Trainee Store Manager Program.

Participated in Pick n Pay's first Graduate Program. I did a rotation through various areas of the company, such as: Stores, Supply Chain, Marketing, Merchandising, Finance, and HR.
