BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ACHIEVEMENTSGrew a team of up to 22 consultants within BHP Billiton Iron Ore.Identified and led the diversification of ImpRes into new industries including Local Government and Utilities.Designed & developed ImpRes People, a cloud-based application which replicates and automates the ImpRes business model - www.imprespeople.net.Completed Due Diligence studies on numerous complementary business opportunities.Initiated and led the re-branding from Improvement Resources to ImpRes.Established ImpRes as the Major Corporate Sponsor of melanomaWA, a non-profit organisation.PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTSLed a team of up to 8 consultants delivering a package of work for Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s Rail Operations which delivered an increase in Supply Chain capacity of 2.1 Mtpa.Transitioned 14 Fortescue Metals Christmas Creek OPF/TLO Controllers to their Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) in Perth on schedule & under budget.Designed & facilitated a workshop with senior leaders of BHP Billiton Coal to determine their current & future technology requirements.Upgraded the MineStar Fleet Management System at Fortescue Metals Cloudbreak on time & budget.Delivered a Depot Diagnostic at City of Subiaco which determined the depot could be operated out of a facility with 56% less land area.Led a team of 8 consultants delivering a raft of cost efficiency work at Peninsula Health including the identification & implementation of improvements that resulted in a fleet reduction of 24%.Delivered a modelling study which identified low capital flow sheets to increase BHP Billiton Iron Ore OB25 OHP rate by up to 85%.

RAPID IMPROVEMENT MANAGERResponsible for business development of the Rapid Improvement capability. Involved tasks such as developing tools and processes, finding work, recruiting people, coaching people in Rapid Improvement and managing engagements.BHP BILLITON WAIO - INTEGRATED REMOTE OPERATIONS CENTREProject Leader for numerous initiatives including measuring and identifying root causes of performance variation between Control Room Operators (CROs), implementing initiatives to reduce performance variation between CROs and managing & improving the CRO Continuous Improvement process/system.BHP BILLITON WAIO - MARINEDeveloped a comprehensive Business Requirements Specification for the Marine Operational Data Capture & Reporting (MODCAR) project. Involved process mapping, development of value driver trees and mock reports.

FORTESCUE METALS GROUP (FMG) - SOLOMON PROJECTManaged the development of the Operating Model for the Solomon Project. This included managing an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) program, managing a team writing the technical Scope of Work component of the M&O Contract, strategic planning for the ramp up phase and managing a team designing the processes and systems to manage the M&O Contract.FORTESCUE METALS GROUP (FMG) - ANDERSON POINTProject Manager responsible for increasing the capacity of the inloading circuit by approximately 10% over a 5 week period. This involved data analysis to understand bottlenecks, identifying and validating initiatives and developing and sustaining PMO acitivites such as master schedule, reporting and KPIs.

The Rio Tinto Operations Centre is a cutting-edge approach to bringing people of many disciplines, design, technology and planning processes together. Mining, rail, power and port activities are controlled remotely from a single location at Perth Airport.Wes managed a team of 60 Pit Controllers and Asset Health Evaluators that controlled and optimised all Pit operations across the Pilbara 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

FIXED PLANT CONTROLLER KPI'sProject leader responsible for developing processes and tools to track the performance of the Fixed Plant Controllers and reduce variability between Controllers.FIXED PLANT CONTROLLER SHIFT LOGProject leader responsible for implementing standardised electronic Shift Logs for all Fixed Plant Controllers across RTIO.AMPLA CLASSIFICATION STANDARDISATIONProject leader responsible for standardising Ampla classification across RTIO. Involved developing a justification for additional FTE, recruiting, developing a new confirmation process and managing the change.FIXED PLANT CONTROLLER SUPERINTENDENT - ACTINGManaged a team of 80 Fixed Plant Controllers with 4 Supervisors for 2 months. Included tasks such as recruitment, managing network outages and investigating safety incidents.CONTROLLER SUPERVISORSupervised a team of 25 Pit and Fixed Plant Controllers for 2 months. Included tasks such as scheduling leave and training, managing poor performance and managing a breach of Rio Tinto’s electronic resources policies.

HEAVY MEDIA CYCLONE PLANT OPTIMISATION - TOM PRICEProject leader responsible for alleviating the heavy media cyclone plant as the bottleneck in the Rio Tinto Iron Ore Tom Price Concentrator. PROJECT MANAGEMENT - MARANDOOProject leader responsible for implementing a number of initiatives including (but not limited to) increasing the plant capacity and extending the time between plant shuts.REDUCE FERROSILICON CONSUMPTION - TOM PRICEProject leader responsible for reducing the consumption of FeSi in the Tom Price plant and trialling a new FeSi supplier.PLANT OPERATOR - TOM PRICEWorked on shift with the Tom Price process plant operators for 3 months, covering every area.

METALLURGIST BACKFILL - ENERGY RESOURCES OF AUSTRALIA (ERA)Backfilled a Production Metallurgists role for 3 months at the ERA – Ranger Mine in the Northern Territory. NICKEL CHLORIDE ROUTE LITERATURE REVIEWCompleted a literature review on current chloride routes for nickel recovery.ERA SOLUTE MODELDeveloped an Excel based model to predict the deportment of U3O8 in the process water over time at ERA.
