I provide comprehensive patient care in the subspecialty fields of Hematology & Oncology in the role of a board-certified Physician Assistant, licensed at both the state and federal levels.

This Emergency Department Paramedic position required functionality as a versatile member of the healthcare team and included an array Obtaining medical histories, conduct medical assessments, and determine illness level of acuity for individuals presenting for medical treatment. Responsibilities also include independently performing a variety of diagnostic assessments, interventional procedures, and clinical skills under my own clinical judgement, hospital policies and procedures, and under direct medical direction from attending physicians and Advance Practice Providers. Attaining HPI information and accordingly updating pertinent patient data within the electronic health record is also an integral part of the positional job duties. Clinical skills performed on a daily basis include interpretating EKGs, peripheral IV insertion, venipuncture blood draws, intraosseous access insertion, endotracheal intubation, cutaneous electro-cardioversion therapy, emergency defibrillation, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and various other skills within the Paramedic scope of practice. It is also within my role to prepare and administer interventional medications under standing orders and at the direction of attending medical providers.

Job responsibilities included effectively evaluating and continual monitoring of patients during transport to, from, and during various types of diagnostic imaging, scans, and procedures. Duties also included interpretation and identification of various cardiac rhythms via 3-lead & 12-lead EKG therapy while a patient was under my care. I was also responsible for performing peripheral IV insertion and medication delivery during patient transport, diagnostic scans, imagery, and procedures, if necessary. I was also responsible for continuously adhering to defined education requirements set forth by the University of Kentucky, Kentucky Board of EMS, and National Registry standards.
