Wes Hackney is Principal, Co-Founder and Financial Planner with Marietta Wealth Management, LLC (“MWM”), an independent, fee-only financial advisory firm. He is actively involved in the development and implementation of comprehensive financial plans and tax-efficient investment strategies for individuals, families and trusts. In addition, Mr. Hackney co-leads the firm’s 401K consulting practice, specializing in plan design, fiduciary oversight, 3(21) investment advice and participant education. Mr. Hackney also sits on Marietta Wealth Management’s investment committee and plays a key role in the development of the firm’s long-term vision, policy, and strategy. Prior to co-founding Marietta Wealth Management, Mr. Hackney worked as a managing associate for one of Atlanta’s largest independent financial advisory firms where he held responsibility for co-leading the firm’s 401K Plan division. He served as the lead financial planner for clients in the firm’s wealth management division and also managed a team of associates. Mr. Hackney brings a diverse career in wealth management and 11 years of experience to his position with MWM. Beginning his career in the finance and accounting department of a small family business, he held various business development roles before joining Wachovia as a personal and business banker and investment planner. Mr. Hackney earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance at Kennesaw State University and a Certificate of Financial Planning at Boston University. A member of the Financial Planning Association, Mr. Hackney is a CFP® professional. Mr. Hackney currently lives in Cartersville, GA with his wife and two daughters. Away from the office, Mr. Hackney enjoys traveling with his family, saltwater and freshwater fishing with friends and playing the occasional round of golf.
