Assistant Group Leader/Technical Staff
Assistant Group Leader in Surveillance Systems Group and program lead for airborne collision avoidance research and development at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Responsibilities include analysis of performance of the existing TCAS system as well as development of ACAS X family of collision avoidance systems for both manned and unmanned aircraft. Support RTCA SC-147, ICAO Aeronautical Surveillance Panel and Commercial Aviation Safety Team working group examining flight crew response to flight deck alerting. Oversees work of 30 staff working on surveillance and tracking algorithms, threat logic development and flight test planning. Also supports FAA Flight Deck Human Factors activities conducing research into traffic symbology, loss of control in flight and graphical depiction of information presented on arrival/departure procedures.
