 Litigated over 560 claims arising under the North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Act, resulting in over 250 settlements and saving the State of North Carolina an estimated $24 million dollars  Represented the state in 12 cases before NC Court of Appeals and Supreme Court Prepared and delivered 18 Full Commission oral arguments Represented State agencies in over 60 trials with an 82% winning percentage Investigated actions of an employee who fraudulently obtained over $120,000 in taxpayer funds and referred case to local district attorney to pursue criminal charges Negotiated an over $200,000.00 lien resolution from third party settlement Deposed over 60 medical experts Analyzed and interpreted statutes, case law, and procedural guidelines in order to provide legal advice for government agencies, including the Department of Public Safety, General Assembly, UNC System Institutions, Department of Transportation, Department of Public Instruction, and others.  Applied extensive knowledge of court procedure and rules of evidence  Collaborated with colleagues to solve complex issues and pursue cases of first impressionRepresentative Cases: State v.
