Wes leads CRAFT’s executive positioning, corporate earnings and crisis communications practice. Wes works with C-suite executives on developing narratives and bringing those stories to life in front of their most important audiences. ________________________________Serving ten years in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Flight Officer, Wes flew the S-3B Viking Viking carrier aircraft during two Middle Eastern deployments, supporting wartime operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Designated as a Viking Tactics Instructor, the “Top Gun” of the Viking community, he later served as Speechwriter to the Vice Chief of Naval Operations and as an International Affairs analyst for the Secretary of the Navy.Wes was a Communications Director for former Virginia Congressman Randy Forbes, focusing on Naval Seapower and Readiness issues for the House Armed Services Committee. Prior to his military service, Wes covered Madison Avenue for The New York Times and wrote at George magazine.Wes has worked as a consultant, advising various corporate and non-profit clients on strategic and political communications, advocacy, media and marketing. Notably, Wes led an international campaign that successfully reinstated the sport of wrestling to the Summer Olympics as the Chief of Staff for the Committee for the Preservation of Olympic Wrestling (CPOW) in 2013.A native Pittsburgher, Wes graduated from the University of Virginia and earned an M.B.A. from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.Wes is a lifetime athlete and competitor: an avid golfer, college wrestler and three-time Ironman triathlon finisher, including the 2011 World Championships in Kona.
