A highly motivated mechanical engineering graduate from Western University. I am currently working as a Mechanical Engineer at Quartek Group. In this position I enjoy applying what I have learned in school, as well as facing new challenges, as I continue to expand my skill set as an engineer. I have a passion for design and innovation, as well as research and development. Areas of study:• Mechanical Design: Product development, CAD modelling (SolidWorks), engineering calculations (Stress, strain, FEA, etc.) and prototyping• Mechatronic System Design: Design of mechanical and electrical systems, programming of MCUs using a PIC24H microcontroller, and wireless communication using bluetooth connections• Nuclear Engineering: Nuclear physics, achieving and controlling nuclear fission, energy production, and nuclear safety• Manufacturing: CNC Machining (writing G-code and using EdgeCam), 3D Printing using SolidWorks models, and material selection• Heat Transfer: Conduction, convection and radiation analyses, heat exchanger design and analysis• Fluid Mechanics: Flow analysis, lift and drag on immersed bodies, pump performance calculations, and pump selectionRecent Projects:• Downburst Release Mechanism: A new downburst release mechanism was designed for Western's Advanced Fluid Mechanics group to enable further research of downbursts, as the previous version generated unrealistic results• Semi-autonomous Robotic System: A remote controllable robotic system was designed that could be used in a hazardous situation. For this project, the hazardous situation that was slected was an unknown gas leak within a power plant. The robot was required to climb a fence and shut off the valve that was leaking gasFurther details of these projects, as well as others, may be seen in my project section below. Outside of my professional endeavours I enjoy writing music, partaking in outdoor activities, and playing sports.
Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Solidworks, and 23 others.
