Henrik, originally from Germany, has been drawn to entrepreneurship from an early age because of the passion it inspires in people. His background is very international, and Henrik has lived across Europe (Germany, Great Britain, Netherlands, Switzerland, and Spain) and Asia (Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Cambodia). Henrik’s family has strong roots in both academia and family business, and his work is informed by academic and personal experience.He completed his PhD with distinction at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, focusing on team dynamics and communication in entrepreneurship. He is particularly interested in questions such as: How do startup teams develop leadership structures? How can entrepreneurs communicate in ways that raise more funding? And how can we combat inequalities in entrepreneurship? His work spans research- and practice-oriented outlets, such as the Journal of Management Studies, MIT Sloan Management Review, European Commission Reports, and the Wall Street Journal. Moreover, Henrik is an active member of the academic community as Editor and former Member of the Executive Board of the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy of Management.In terms of professional experience, Henrik has been involved in start-ups and established companies in the automotive, consumer goods, and non-profit sector. He also served as a startup coach in Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, France, Sweden, and Bangladesh. Henrik’s teaching activities focus on the IMBA MIM, and PhD, where his work is informed by his own experience, research, and work in executive programs in several leading European Business Schools.In his spare time, Henrik enjoys sports, motorcycling, reading, and cooking.
