The role was a blend of project management with software development. Was responsible for writing clean and efficient code, making optimizations, researching and implementing best practices, writing specifications and estimates. Lead small teams of 2 to 3 developers for making updates to the product, including managing deadlines and coordinating team members. Coordinated with the Product Manager and System Architect on active updates and contributed to the product roadmap. Later also assumed the role of Technical Lead where I coordinated technical decisions among the 10 developers on the team in conjunction with the System Architect.Technology: ASP.NET, C#, MSSQL, React Native, RequireJS, Kendo, Cordova• Lead an initiative to rebuild the entire web application in a single page application, modelling Cordova. Team size was 6 developers. Reduced the development time requirements from 15,000 hours to about 5,000 hours (by 66%), allowing us to release sooner and with less complexity and less uncertainty.• Developed system for converting our four-dimensional user data into a partitioned, column-based data store for running live reports. The system automatically repartitions and applies indexes as needed. Implementing this solution reduced batch report generation times from 16 hours to 5 minutes (by 99%).• Constructed a system which allowed users perform on-the-fly reporting on datasets of 5.5 billion data points, which resulted in a reduction report generation times from 5 minutes to about 10 seconds (by 96%), when compared to batch generated reports.• Improved report generation when using hierarchical data, dropping generation times from upwards of 40 minutes to about 20 seconds (by 99%). • Implemented a key-value-time-revision data storage mechanism in SQL which facilitated asynchronous, non-locking writes, allowing for schema changes without code pushes and background data processing which was not previously available.
