Mr. Hewlett is registered as a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) through Professional Geoscientists Ontario, and as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) through the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT). He completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto in 2009 and joined JFMEL following his completion of the Environmental Engineering Applications Post Grad program at Conestoga College in 2010. Mr. Hewlett has been continuing his studies in the Earth Sciences at the University of Western Ontario on a part time basis. Mr. Hewlett has been involved with the management of projects during his time at JFMEL. Projects have included Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, Remediation Projects, Hydrogeological Assessments, Underground Storage Tank Removals, and Designated Substance and Mould Surveys and Abatement Projects. He has also provided technical support on projects involving the abatement of mold and asbestos, preparation of Risk Assessments (RAs), and the preparation of Remedial Action Plans (RAPs). Under senior supervision, he has been involved with the completion of hundreds of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments in accordance to the CSA Standards and Ontario Regulation 153 / 04. Mr. Hewlett has also completed over fifty building surveys for asbestos, mould, and designated substances. Additional work undertaken has included the auditing of other consultancy firm’s work, the management of monthly and annual monitoring programs, and the preparation of applications for the filing of Records of Site Condition (RSC), Certificates of Approval, and Permits to Take Water (PTTW). The work previously referenced was undertaken on behalf of Clients at properties located across Southwestern Ontario, including agricultural, residential, municipal, community, commercial, and industrial properties.Mr. Hewlett is also experienced in technical field work associated with the drilling of boreholes and installation of monitoring wells, including the acquisition of hydrogeological and soil data. Mr. Hewlett has provided the field supervision, sample collection, and logging for the completion of hundreds of test pits, boreholes, and monitoring wells. Previous work has included the collection of samples from various media for the purposes of laboratory analysis. Additionally, he has been involved with project research, proposal preparation, data analysis, general office support and management, and the preparation of figures, tables, and reports.
