I began my logistics career in 2001 when I served in the RAF. There, I gained an NVQ in transporting goods by road and a full ADR licence plus all my heavy goods licences'. I then moved into commercial logistics, gaining a vast knowledge in transporting fuels & chemicals on a national scale with various companies.To date, I have acquired a wealth of experience and knowledge in relation to transport as well as a bank of transferable skills.I am well-organised, motivated and adaptable. I am fully committed to working efficiently and take pride in meeting customer set targets, being proactive and economical. By nature, I am a good problem solver. I am capable of managing daily schedules to accommodate (often unforeseen) plans, ensuring that planning is in line with our budget even though we are open book, I plan to minimise empty running. With this in mind I always ensure that I work within the working time directive regulations, plus I am also aware of maintenance management and law.My current working day is fast paced. I thrive on having to think quickly on my feet whilst working to protocol, ensuring that paperwork and systems are all up to date.As a planner I need to be a good listener, be approachable with a sound knowledge of the company. I recognise the need to keep lines of communication open with sub-contractors (with the possibility of gaining new contracts).One of the areas I feel that excel in with my experience is managing and monitoring data on the microlise fleet management system which ensures that my fleet of drivers drive efficiently, cost effective and safely.
