The works are located along Bruce Highway (10H) connecting Mackay and Proserpine, stretching - approximately 31km in length. NQ Civil Engineering Contractors (NQCEC) was a civil construction business in Far North Queensland. The core geographical commercial focus of the organisation was Cape York and North Queensland, including surrounding sea and island operations in the Gulf of Carpentaria, through to the Torres Strait Islands. Works undertaken included road and airfield construction, bridge projects and specilised spray sealing operations.My role was to ensure that all projects were delivered on time, in budget and in line with Health, Safety and Environment requirements; providing increased production outcomes, profit margins and client satisfaction.Responsibilities:•Roadworks built to DTMR and ACG airfield specification•Management of subcontractors including survey, soil testing, sealing, runway lighting.•Client liaison and stakeholder management•Weekly construction meetings with all staff & monthly management meetings with FIFO to HO Brisbane with allowing stakeholders on project program, HSEQ and contractual updates.•Maintain a broad and extensive knowledge of all aspects of civil earthworks, including road building, civil construction and infrastructure, road maintenance, rehabilitation works, mining, underground infrastructures, drainage structures, spray sealing and asphalt principle applications for the project and detailed complex specifications.

Leading Monford’s tendering team, hands-on project experience and business acumen was brought to this role, having responsibility for the management and production of all tender/bid submissions, including content, team and stakeholder management.

TL Civil offers both wet and dry hire plant and equipment to the civil stabilisation, asphalt and mining industry, with recently moving into the civil asphalt & construction arena to offer a complete service, providing all plant, operators and expertise required to complete complex infrastructure projects in and around Geraldton the Pilbara and Mid-West of Western Australia.One of my first tasks was the development and Implementation of the business IMS system for Health & Safety, Environment & Quality, successfully gaining third party accreditation within 3 months of commencement. Other facets of my role involved managing client expectations, negotiating subcontract orders and monitoring subcontractors, planning project critical dates, and organising labour and resource as Operations/Contract Manager, delivering increased operational profit margins and production output.
