Over the past 34 years of involvement in the fire protection industry, my experience has been diverse and has led me to the industry-leading position of directing exciting new technology, the MXOne. After completing my college degree in FPE technology, I spent the first 10 years working for a fire department starting as a firefighter/inspector and eventually assuming the position of Fire Marshal. I obtained my certification as a state-certified firefighter and certified as an NFPA Fire Inspector. During my time spent as the fire marshal, I was involved with the review of new construction plan review along with ensuring life safety was addressed during the construction phases. My next move into the contracting side of the business as a designer. I was exposed to commercial and industrial projects. I had an aptitude for the industrial space and excelled with problem-solving challenges developing protection solutions. I credit my development and success to several outstanding mentors who are industry leaders. They invested their time and knowledge into me. We spent many hours learning the basic concepts of special hazard protection and theory. I learned hydraulic theory and calculation by hand without using computer-based programs. These folks insisted on further education pursuing advanced hydraulic class and NICET Certification. During this time, I was introduced to gas-based systems. The next logical phase in my career was project management and sales in the industrial market space. I was blessed to be involved with projects in coal mining, chemical, oil and gas, paper and pulp, power generation, and steel production. These industries have their special requirements that make them challenging. Project management requires one to focus on the details, with the details you can address the schedule, materials, and installation throughout the duration of the project to assist it in being a success. Throughout my fire protection journey, I have had the pleasure of being in the role of a service manager and starting up a successful marine division. My current role is to introduce the MXOne High-performance turbine to NA. My role as the business development marketing lead is an exciting venture. We have fabricated a demo trailer that has been used in testing and demonstrating the capabilities of the new technology. Testing has been performed at Industrial Rescue’s Facility in Beaumont TX. and OSU in Stillwater OK. We have performed demonstrations in CA and CO. I am passionate about fire protection and more especially the capabilities of the MXOne
