Consolidated 11 apps from running on 15 servers to 2 pairs of MS SQL Server (Always On) and 1 pair of IIS web servers PRD/DBR due to software currency. These apps process big data daily from Corona/MSSQL and ScotiaGlobe/AS400. Hot standby websites are set up for 3 apps on PRD/DBR. These apps have over 3,000 staff users across 12 countries within the bank. Designed project plans to lead the team taking on VP/CTO high pressure challenges of completing the phased migrations by 2023Q2, 2023Q4, and 2024Q2. Presented project progress to VPs and Directors weekly. All apps migrated seamlessly on time with no impact. Reorganized data flow and source code of all apps using different programming languages, such as Python,.NET, and PHP. Converted over 50 unsecured SQL jobs to Windows tasks using centralized CMD and PowerShell scripting to generate over 40 reports with detailed email job log alerts for full control app support. These alerts allow the team to raise incident tickets on ServiceNow proactively, instead of letting users report problems in the old days. Performed disaster recovery tests to failover and failback all apps and reports from PRD to DBR. Automated 2 key user operations by creating interactive BOTs using Python, Excel, and SharePoint. Set up IST and UAT environments for development and testing to enhance the apps using Change management. Created source code repositories on Bitbucket. Documented all ETL data flow and app architectures to show all upstream and downstream processes. Led a business team to migrate an on-premises app to public cloud by data engineering, stakeholder relationship, and vendor management. Continue to enhance the apps and processes to comply with the bank latest security requirements reported by Tenable. Praised by Scotiabank VPs: “A miraculous worker like an army”

Designed and developed a complex web-based account reconciliation system to process GL data submitted by different regions and countries. Led the team to develop the system using Agile, Test-Driven Development, Style Guide, Selenium Automated Browser, and many other best practice methodologies. The fully automated test cases simulate users to download data, modify the data, upload the changes, and verify the modifications. This system imports massive GL data from different systems of the bank, such as Corona/MSSQL, ScotiaGlobe/AS400, CLB, and CSAR. This system allows users to massively download and upload GL data in Excel files across multiple hubs. This system puts each massive data entry file upload job in a hub queue, validates the data, and processes them from the backend based on the hub time zone. This system is a bilingual platform in English and Spanish supporting countries in the Caribbean and Latin America, processing millions of records per day. There are 11 million GL items in the Power BI fact table, of which dashboards are precisely engineered to refresh in 4 seconds.

Designed and developed a web-based VIP Marketing System to enhance the existing client/server-based VIP customer system. This system allows users to verify the mobile phone numbers of VIP customers using MMS and SMS text messages. This system allows vendors to push promotions, gifts, etc. to VIP customers for multi-marketing purposes to stimulate sales and loyalty programs.

Designed and developed a client/server system for a logistic company. This system consists of several major modules, such as order taking, dispatch, accounts receivable, and contractor management. This system also provides customers a web-based order taking and tracking application.

Designed and developed a web-based report system to replace the existing Excel reports. This system allows users to upload revenue and expense data to the cloud and generate reports for profit and loss. This system greatly improved two user experience aspects: shortening the turnaround time of generating up-to-date reports from quarterly to monthly and enabling all staff to view the reports online from the head office and remote offices.

Enhanced a web-based system to track deficiencies, warranties, suites, projects, and trades. This system allows inspectors to take pictures of defects in newly developed suites on site and upload the deficiency records to the head office server using phones, iPads, and laptops. This system allows homeowners to sign electronic forms, which are in turn emailed to them. This system also sends trades email alerts of outstanding and aging repairs weekly. This system allows home developers to track work orders of trades, monitor progress of repairs, and control release of payments.

Designed and developed a web-based system to collect big thermostat data and perform analytical controls on the cloud using Agile development practice. This system profiles the energy demands of the entire building by zoning the smart thermostat of each unit, floor, level, and cardinal direction. Property managers can easily identify heating and cooling demands, and which units are not satisfied using a web-based graphical display of the building profile.
