I'm currently an employee with Bigge Crane and Rigging. I was contracting for the majority of my time spent here. Was made full time last year. I originally started in the engineering department, but do to changes around the company I've been moved to the sales department. Originally, I would work with engineer's and project managers in creating drawings for the removal, replacement, transportation and maintenance of generators, turbines, etc. Job site layout plans were generated to determine amount of room that was available and to come up with a plan to fulfill project goals. Fabrication drawings were created if equipment used needed to be modified for the project or needed to be created from scratch project specific for the job site. With the sales department, I now generate construction hoists, mobile crane and tower crane overlays onto Google Earth and PDF job site layout plans. I assist the sales man in determining what crane to use, how much square footage it will require to assemble and at what capacity the crane will be of use. I provide drawings showing the step by step process of assembling and dismantling a crane at the job site. I also provide drawings showing how much coverage the crane is able to make in its predetermined location and possible alternate locations that may be of use or gives us more of an advantage. I also generate rigging diagrams to determine the best and most efficient way to make a lift and what rigging equipment will be necessary to do the job. If necessary custom fabrication drawings may be required when something custom is needed at the jobsite specifically for that project that we may not have in our inventory.
