I am an enthusiastic learner and an excellent listener who is always willing to improve. I have 11 GCSEs A*-Cs and an A level in Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry and have completed Biochemistry course at Kingston University in May 2021. In 2014, I participated in a National Mathematics test whereby only 400 students in the UK took part and achieved one of the highest marks in the test receiving a Gold Award. Also in that same year, I took part in Young Enterprise Workshop created by Ernest and Young. My background education and past experiences have provided me with multiples core skills and qualities such as time management skills, leadership and organisation skills, able to stay calm under pressure, punctual and quick learner, an open and flexible attitude to acquire new skills and completing tasks.Studying biochemistry at university has also provided laboratory experience, written and verbal communication skills due to research, assignments and presentations and a team leader. These skills acquired has enhanced my ability to work effectively within a team or individually. Organising my time effectively to comply with the deadline has sharpened my time management skills and prioritisation. I had my work experience at Guys’ and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (Critical Care Unit) and I am now currently working there as a Senior Medical Technologist. My experience at the Critical Care Unit was incredible, with good opportunity in assisting staff with various tasks that included priming blood pressure transducers, daily maintenance and cleaning of Blood Gas analysers. I studied how a Hemodynamic monitor operates to calculate blood flow through the heart on patients, learnt the normal ranges for readings such as: oxygen saturation, heart rate, blood pressure and blood flow. In addition, I assisted with calibration and quality control of the intensive care laboratory biochemistry analysers. These experiences increased my knowledge and understanding of biochemistry and how to work swiftly and efficiently within the workplace. I also learnt the importance of maintaining confidentiality of information about patients, staff and other health services.I am aware of my limitations; adhere to policies, communicate effectively, adapt to change and work in collaboration with others to achieve a common goal. I have very good computer skills, practice within professional values; ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
