The Partners team is responsible for empowering engineering partner teams at Asana. This work included building the infrastructure and internal tools to allow non-engineers to improve their workflows and processes. As a founding member of this team, I was responsible for contributing to the technical planning and execution of our first set of projects, including development of a gRPC service, internal API, internal webapp (Flask +TS/React), SSO integrations, and Kubernetes deployments. This tooling launched in FY23, and for FY24, this tool reduced operational expenss by $17M through achieved efficiencies, while also having achieved a 96% CSAT score.

The Revenue Infrastructure team is responsible for developing and maintaining the internal service that facilitates billing transactions for our customers. As part of the team, my responsibilities included writing service logic in Scala with gRPC and MySQL, updating product billing logic using Javascript and Typescript, developing the testing and error-handling frameworks for the service, developing intermediary layers to handle trials and billing emails, and managing the on-call rotation to maintain our AWS/Docker/Kubernetes deployment.

As a hardware test engineer at Verb Surgical, I collaborated with hardware engineers and software engineers to develop testing frameworks and harnesses for surgical robotic arms. As part of this work, I developed software to generate test scenarios, executed those scenarios against prototype devices, developed frameworks for post-processing large amounts of logs & metrics, and created a data pipeline to funnel collected data to the appropriate teams and stakeholders.

My responsibilities as an engineer in the hardware lab of 42 included designing real-time embedded software systems for interactive hardware, designing and manufacturing products, and designing full-stack user-facing software. While my background is in software engineering, being an engineer at 42 Robotics allowed me to use all of the skills at my disposal, and learn new ones. Some of the projects I worked on involved HCI, machine learning & neural networks, IoT, rapid prototyping & 3D printing, and CAD.

My responsibilities as a coding mentor included one-on-one interaction with middle-school and high-school aged children, curriculum design, and the development of tools used in the Hack High School program. In this position, I used Python to teach kids OOP and data structures, and combined Python with JSON to develop tools for other mentors to use, such as auto-graders and exercise generators.
