In Canada, Working Remotely On A South African Project

SASAMS is a school administration system for ordinary schools in South Africa. It’s a national project and I became involved when the client, a director in the department of education, asked me to join Deloitte when they won the contract in 2009. I have since had extensive involvement in data management, reporting, process and system design and implementation. Over time I have specialised within the project in report generation and data management. We've worked with large data sets that are measured in gigabytes or terabytes, primarily in SQL. I've also worked closely with the development of a BI solution.

Project cost over $1m.Assisted in the start-up of a local IT/GIS company (SA Solutions).Ad hoc IT training for University of Fort Hare Institute of Governance.

Managed the rollout of an MIS for Dept. of Social Development in a portion of the province (in SA) and trained all levels of users. A multimillion dollar equivalent project.Designed and documented system improvements.
