Studio 23 is a community art space started by me and my wife. It's our working art studio and a creative space for classes, workshops, monthly open studios, installations, and art shows. We have several reoccurring events like the Alameda Summer Art Fair and Maker Market and the Black Light Art Show.

In 2017 I started Digifli and developed the DSM platform that is used by Stanford University as well as over 150 businesses in the East Bay. DSM (Digital Screen Management) is a cloud based SaaS platform that simplifies distributing information through a network of digital screens. In general terms it can be thought of as networked digital signage. However, the focus is on streamlining communication for organizations that have a lot of info they need to distribute. We work with .EDU, .GOV, and .COM to reduce printing cost and reducing waste. The system is built on the AWS cloud using Ec2/RDS/S3 and various other AWS services. The platform simultaneously publishes the media to the web. It also uses AI to read the image files and extract the information and then publish a blog post about the event or whatever information is on the uploaded file.The hardware is built on Raspberry Pi Zero W boards that check into the cloud server for updates every few minutes. The system runs even when losing internet connection, all changes are synced in the background when there is a connection available, then cached and displayed locally.We create no new plastic or e-waste. The platform leverages existing off-the-shelf hardware and refurbished e-waste. We have diverted over two thousand pounds of e-waste and converted it to a viable and useful product.
