- Serve as direct manager of a team of salaried and hourly employees charged with gas turbine engine test facilities construction, delivery unique hardware (test enabling hardware) used for engine test and application of instrumentation used to validate engineering designs.- Recruit, screen, hire and on-board GE-internal and external employees to support new product introduction (NPI) engine programs and current engine production.- Distribute technical design, analysis and drawing work packages among internal staff, outside vendors and other GE-internal teams external to Test Systems Engineering to ensure on-time delivery of test facilities and test enabling hardware.- Partner with groups covered by collective bargaining agreements and their respective managers to establish co-located cross-functional teams to design facilities and test enabling hardware.- Mentor employees on technical matters, project management techniques, GE-internal policies and procedures, career growth, test processes and risk mitigation techniques for the benefit of business objectives and individuals’ career growth.- Promote lean initiatives within salaried and hourly team to drive mistake-proofing methods, individual accountability and tracking of metrics to improve the overall quality of instrumentation applications and terminations.- Complete and document performance reviews, salary actions, promotions, career plans and communicate with employees on their year-over-year job appraisals inclusive of their successes and growth opportunities.

- Responsible for all aspects associated with assembly, instrumentation and test of early prototype demonstrator turboshaft engines and component rigs.- Coordinate requirements generation, design, drafting and procurement efforts for test enabling hardware to integrate component rigs and full engines with GE test facilities.- Author Quality Control Work Instructions to set guidelines for assembly and test activities, documentation, management of non-conforming hardware and problem reporting.- Sustain Earned Value metrics for tooling design/fabrication, test enabling hardware design/fabrication, instrumentation, assembly and test activities: CPI reliably exceeds 0.9.- Interface regularly with Program Management on cost reporting, spend projections, test schedule updates and serve as key contributor on the creation of overall program timelines.- Deliver Preliminary and Detailed Design Review material to external Army customer and Test Design Review material to GE Chief Engineers on behalf of the assembly and test team.- Contribute to Test Plan Reports, Quarterly Reports and Manufacturing Planning Reports delivered to Army and Navy customers. - Generate and maintain resource-loaded assembly, instrumentation and test schedules, program management plans and quarterly reports.- Review test lessons-learned across all GE Aviation NPI programs and coordinate risk mitigation with Supply Chain and Engineering stakeholders to ensure first time yield of 1.- Lead deep-dive efforts to streamline test vehicle assembly, cell installation and testing.

- Manage the development of various vendor-supplied components to be used in the Environmental Control System of the Lockheed Martin Orion Crew Exploration Vehicle.- Support initiatives to decrease product cost and development lead time by completing fluid analysis to verify the applicability of a single design in several applications.- Perform Earned Value Management analysis and present updates to management to ensure schedule and cost discipline for all Supplier Designed Equipment components.- Generate detailed specifications using DOORS software for procurement of valves, actuators and regulators to be used in the Orion Environmental Control System.- Review technical capabilities, manufacturing capacity, quality certifications, process control, organizational structure and various other metrics of component suppliers to determine the feasibility of outsourcing products to those companies.

- Led all integration activities related to the installation of Williams International gas turbine engines on the A700 Very Light Jet (VLJ, 5-7 passengers), currently in development.- Completed and submitted test plan reports to the Federal Aviation Administration in support of A700 VLJ certification.- Supported flight test activities for all engine related testing and worked closely with test pilots to ensure safety of operation and sufficient test risk mitigation.

- Responsible for planning, executing and documenting test programs for military prototype (F135) gas turbine engines valued at more than $30 million each.- Managed and scheduled test support groups including P&W internal and external salaried engineers, unionized mechanics and technicians working three shifts per day to carry out sea-level and elevated mach number aircraft engine test.- Developed and presented detailed test plans to internal engineering groups, management, government and airframe customers to ensure the safety of engine running.- Created and maintained detailed engine assembly and test schedules for use by program management and engineering to predict the delivery of engines to test and their corresponding test objectives.- Completed Operational Risk Management, Crew Resource Management and Root Cause Analysis training programs.- Led cross-functional teams in the development of engine test programs to validate reliability and performance.

- Engineering immersion program in which partcipants recruited out of college rotate through several positions throughout the company gaining exposure in various fields disciplines involved in gas turbine engineering.- Specific experience was gained in fluid [secondary air flow] analysis, maintaining engine thermodynamic models and turbine airfoil manufacturing.

- Coordinated research and development trial tests of refactory materials that have potential applications in full-scale production operations.- Applied mass flow analysis to glass furnace exhaust characteristics for environmental protection improvements.- Estimated loads in high temperature and pressure glass furnaces using strengths of materials principles.
