Extensive civil litigation and appellate experience. I have first and second chaired over 30 jury and bench trials with multiple seven-figure verdicts. I have conducted nearly 20 oral arguments in courts of appeals, including an en banc argument in the Tenth Circuit. Multiple published cases, including Exby v. Weld County, 979 F.3d 784 (10th Cir. 2020) en banc. I have also both obtained and defeated petitions for certiorari in the US Supreme Court. Specialties include personal injury, commercial litigation, employment, real estate and business disputes, and appeals. While my practice is quite diverse, the common thread among my clients is helping people and small businesses who are being taken advantage of by others or have been harmed by others' carelessness. Small businesses often find themselves on the defensive when larger companies try to take advantage of them. I enjoy litigating against insurance companies who have billions to spend on misleading advertisements, but can't afford to give real people - including their own customers - the time of the day. I also enjoy co-counseling with great attorneys from across the country on a variety of cases including legal malpractice, trucking injuries, and shareholder disputes.
