Springer, Georgia.2189 miles through the Appalachian Mountains.-hiked 2189 miles through 14 states-addressed daily issues and concerns immediately as they arose-self-financed project that required budgeting throughout duration -demonstrated self-motivation by staying focused and determined even in adverse conditions.(extreme heat and drought, as well as freezing rain, slept in temperatures below freezing)-demonstrated research skills before and during the hike (to make a plan to finish within six months, to plan resupply, hygiene, and rest points) -face-to-face communication with other hikers about trail conditions-phone communication to hostel owners -formal communication with equipment manufacturers
