The goal was to provide an enterprise wide “all encompassing” warehouse that is easily extensible and supports the informational needs of the organization, process improvement, and automation.Received data feeds from a variety of sources including flat files, ODBC connections to various database platforms, HL7 feeds, data streams from outside vendors, internally developed custom applications, website scripting/screen scraping, EDI X12 data feeds, and scanned documents. Reports and information from the data warehouse accessed interactively over 3000 times per day by over 400 employees spanning 54 departments within the Health System.In addition to reporting and management dashboards, the warehouse enabled my team and I to provide applications and support for price modeling, payer performance report cards, denials management, avoidable write-off trending, staff performance statistics, Health System performance tracking, enterprise CDM, automated CDM maintenance, patient wait time alerts, registration error alerts, workflow notification alerts, patient transfer alerts, case management alerts, patient flow, eligibility, price estimates, online bill pay, propensity to pay, follow-up work lists, quality assurance information, denials management, charge capture audits, third party outsourcing, outpatient coding, hospital acquired conditions tracking, claim edits, cash posting automation, automated self-pay discounts, automated bad debt process with multi-tiered approval authority levels, automated presumptive charity, electronically delivered batch reports and data extracts.
