Graduate of San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Currently searching for a career in an engineering field that will perpetually expand my engineering design, analysis, and manufacturing knowledge.Participated in SAE Baja as SDSU Aztec Baja's Steering subsystem lead from 2019 until 2022. Design and assembly models were constructed within Solidworks CAD environment. Rack and Pinion gears were first machined to their general shape via turning operations on a Sharp 1440V lathe. The teeth were then manufactured using EDM processes. Steering arms, inner tie rod clevis and pinion housing cap were machined using a HAAS VF-2YT CNC 3-axis mill. The code of which was programmed using the HSMWorks Solidworks CAM add-on. System integration between the steering subsystem and the drivetrain subsystem was especially challenging during this time because the vehicle was transitioning from rear wheel drive to all wheel drive and steering was heavily affected by this. However, successful system integration was achieve and Aztec Baja placed 8th overall and 1st in the traction/suspension dynamic event at the 2022 Baja SAE Rochester competition.On personal time, FDM 3D printing has become a very useful hobby. I have printed approximately 8 or so components that were designed for 3D print manufacturing and assembly. 3D printing is an extremely useful tool for rapid prototyping and I'm grateful to be developing this skill while I continue to search for a career in engineering design, analysis, and/or manufacturing.
