Solo practice focused on Human Resources and Employment Law consulting. Clients have included government, business, and healthcare. Primarily experienced in health law, compliance, privacy, municipal law, land use law, contract law, and labor law.

Responsible for directing, planning and facilitating quality work for Human Resources department in the primary areas of Employment and Retention, Compensation and Benefits, Physician Services, Satellite Facilities, Operations, and Employee Health and Wellness. Collaborates with executives, management, staff, other hospital support personnel, vendors and contracted service providers to assess, plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate services and activities for areas of responsibility. Accountable for effectively coordinating all employment activities, including providing human resource expertise in health care reform compliance, recruitment and retention, employee relations, benefits and compensation, HR operations, FMLA, WC, and other employee health functions. Accountable for the smooth integration of physician practices. Develops, implements, evaluates, and modifies as needed appropriate reports, schedules, processes, and systems to meet the departments and organizations needs. Mentors and guides staff in their job and career growth. Works with the Executive over HR to design strategies for HR to provide value to the organization. Ensures that all activities are performed in compliance with applicable legal guidelines and policies and procedures. Functions with limited supervision, utilizes independent and collaborative judgment in decision-making, and demonstrates leadership and problem solving skills.

Human Resource duties include oversight of an HR team administering all aspects of HR activities for up to 300 personnel operating in 8 locations over two counties. Hire, develop, and train incoming personnel, administer benefits, and ensure overall compliance with federal and corporate regulations. Manage conflict resolution, relationships with various vendors, and drive performance through ongoing work plans. Identify new training and development needs, incorporating various techniques to enhance HR policy and program construction. Spearheading employee relations and coaching senior staff on team building and organizational effectiveness. Monitor and measure HR performance indicators, authoring staff development and recertification programs.Legal and Risk Management duties include the prevention, reduction, and control of loss to the organization, its patients, visitors, and employees through incident investigation and analysis, tracking, trending and evaluation, and claims management. Administration of all aspects of legal compliance including review of contracts, acceptance of contractual liability; review of insurance and indemnification provisions in proposed contracts, agreements, and leases. Accepts service of legal documents on behalf of the organization. Oversees the investigation of all claims; conducts internal investigation on lawsuits and potential claims; coordinates conferences between defense counsel and staff involved in liability situations. Review and response on behalf of the organization to all attorney request letters.

Served active duty then transitioned to the NY Air National Guard in 1994. Held AFSC's for both Military Public Health and Flight Medic. Served in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Member Space Shuttle recovery crew for 3 launches while stationed at Edwards Air Force Base Flight Surgeons Office.
