Broad scope of responsibility included process and compliance work. As lighter plant environment and safety engineer, was in charge of LPG safety and compliance with all aspects of PSM (notably PHAs, Management of Change, Pre-Startup Safety Review) and filed an updated Risk Management Plan to EPA. Also, ran the Environmental Management System maintaining ISO 14001 certification and even did some OSHA general industry compliance work. The scope included some fire protection system support at times and the scope of the role frequently changed because of other staff coming and going. Notably, was the only manager in the environment and safety department for 8 months, but ensured that it was restored to two as needed to meet long-term company goals and trained new EHS Manager. • Designed changes to LPG and ammonia systems to improve process reliability, increase production capacity 10% and enable modernization. Enhanced safety control logic. • Plant PSM compliance lead for 3 years including 5 year Process Hazard Analysis and 10 year maintenance of LPG pressure vessels. • Changed RMP strategy to avoid new risks of non-compliance and streamline effort. • Zero PSM incidents • In 3 years, 2 minor ISO 14001 non-conformities (certification uninterrupted). • Successful RCRA audit by Connecticut • Praised at audit of extra-financial indicators reported per EU securities regulationsBIC is the well-known consumer products manufacturer selling lighters, razors, pens, markers and more.

Designed semiconductor plant process systems, largely for GlobalFoundries, including all system categories (aqueous, organic and slurry liquids, bulk and specialty gas, wastewater, hazardous waste, ultrapure water, cooling water and vacuum.) Ran fast-paced high-output weekly workgroups with client to achieve great design on aggressive schedule. My team produced P&IDs, layouts (in AutoCAD and Revit), specifications, equipment selections. Subsequently reviewed vendor submittals and construction progress.Was the primary person synthesizing code hazardous occupancy criteria with client material storage inventory requirements. Projects required frequent detailed coordination with the other design disciplines and trading of precious space. • Selected to lead a team of 9 FTE engineers and designers to design systems worth ~$10M for Computer Chip Commercialization Center at SUNY Polytechnic Institute • Central role in turnkey vendor design and install to retrofit additional slurry distribution capacity, communicating requirements amongst 5-6 companies, 3 of which struggled with schedule commitments / adequate staffing. Provided intensive onboarding for construction manager. Managed environmental compliance projects up to $50K each in all media (air, water, hazardous waste, soil) including auditing, permitting, reporting, training, etc. Primary contact for 20 clients.
