As lighter plant environment and safety engineer, was in charge of LPG safety and compliance with all aspects of PSM (notably PHAs, Management of Change, Pre-Startup Safety Review) and filed an updated Risk Management Plan to EPA. Also, ran the Environmental Management System maintaining ISO 14001 certification and even did some OSHA general industry compliance work. The scope included some fire protection system support at times and the scope of the role frequently changed because of other staff coming and going. Notably, was the only manager in the environment and safety department for 8 months, but ensured that it was restored to two as needed to meet long-term company goals and trained new EHS Manager. • Designed changes to LPG and ammonia systems to improve process reliability, increase production capacity 10% and enable modernization. Designed semiconductor plant process systems, largely for GlobalFoundries, including all system categories (aqueous, organic and slurry liquids, bulk and specialty gas, wastewater, hazardous waste, ultrapure water, cooling water and vacuum.) Ran fast-paced high-output weekly workgroups with client to achieve great design on aggressive schedule. My team produced P&IDs, layouts (in AutoCAD and Revit), specifications, equipment selections. Managed environmental compliance projects up to $50K each in all media (air, water, hazardous waste, soil) including auditing, permitting, reporting, training, etc. Primary contact for 20 clients. Wrote proposals, delegated work, contracted with subs, provided billing guidance, met scope, schedule and budget. • Designed full installation of $300K low cost wet scrubber to control NO2 and acid.
