Ausfield Services is working on a project to the value of A$36 million for a major client. In preparation for the project, various compliance documents relating to safety aspects had to be created. In addition, the client expected photographic evidence of work completed across numerous work sites on a weekly basis.Through my expert knowledge of project management principles, MS Office, change management processes and collaborative efforts, I delivered the required documentation before the project commenced. I further implemented the software system that captures photographic evidence of completed work activities. --Key contribution-- Ensuring compliance with the project requirements by creating and updating safety-related documents (thereby ensuring the safety of employees) and by implementing a key reporting tool on work completed.

A high number of overlapping and uncoordinated flying activities and exercises were scheduled to take place in the Northern Territory. Not resolving the competing priority activities would lead to aviation safety and organisational reputation being negatively affected.I enabled the successful execution of Air Force engagement opportunities by liaising with foreign Air Forces, deconflicting flying activities, and coordinating airspace. For this work, I received a commendation from senior management.--Key contribution--Through my actions, aviation safety was improved by alleviating the airspace coordination workload at Darwin and Tindal ATC Centres.

The organisation that I worked for was staffed with personnel whose skills did not directly contribute to key defence capabilities and therefore reducing the funds available for operational activities. The organisation required detailed information on the ratio of personnel contributing directly to key defence capabilities as a first step to resolving this problem.Through my research I uncovered, and centralised, dissimilar data on human resources and converted it to actionable management information. This information was visualised and presented to the organisation’s executive management team for which I was commended.--Key contribution--Through my research, the organisation better understood how human resources in the organisation contributed to key defence capabilities.

A new recruitment process was initiated which required the organisation to increase the number and the quality of students trained.I initiated and led a team of instructors that improved the quality of instruction at the organisation through the Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control (DMAIC) quality improvement process.--Key contribution--Through my actions, the number of successful learners improved from 81% to 95% with the organisation being awarded for excellence in 2015 and 2016.

The management structure in the organisation was inflated which led to the decision-making within the organisation no longer being efficient.Through communicating with key stakeholders, and managing the required changes, I led a team that revised the management structure that placed accountability with 9 departmental heads.--Key contribution--Through my actions, improvements in workplace culture and the morale of the organisation led to reductions in operational costs by 10%. Out of these results, the organisation was awarded for excellence in 2014.
