Selected as a recipient of the Ernest F. Hollings Scholarship. During the summer of 2025, I will have the opportunity to partake in meteorological research at a NOAA facility and present at an academic conference the following academic year.

Selected to participate in the 2024 Summer Research Program of the Northeast Partnerships for Atmospheric & Related Science (NEPARS) Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU). Created the Social Vulnerability Index to Rapidly-Intensifying Hurricanes in Mexico (SoVI RIM), visualized with an ArcGIS map indicating the index score per municipality. Conducted a literature review, processed Mexican census data in Excel, performed a principal component analysis, analyzed simulated hurricane track data, and performed a kernel density analysis to yield the index. Presented poster at program symposium and will present at MIDATMOS and AMS conferences.

Facilitated weekly meetings gathering updates and feedback from West Halls residents to resolve on-campus living issues and to organize and promote community-building events. Advocated for student needs by communicating with university staff and other organizations. Managed financial transactions and assisted in decisions on allocation of funds. Managed event promotion and engagement on Instagram.

Designed multi-day service trips for student during university break periods. Oversaw operations of executive board members, managed communications with service sites, and solidified logistics of trips. Led service trips focused on environmental center maintenance and interfaith relations. Coordinated trip schedule, organized meals, and initiated analytic wrap-up discussions.

Selected as one of 30 students per graduating class. The program fosters leadership and teamwork skills and includes a class taught by the President of Penn State.

Managed schedules of 100+ student employees and oriented newly hired employees. Acted as student supervisor on the line when needed and delegated tasks to employees. Served food and maintained positive customer relations to 600+ students per meal. Additional duties include office tasks, bussing, dishwashing, restocking supplies, and general maintenance.

Consulted weather prediction models to craft 5-day forecasts for various PA regions. Demonstrated forecasting techniques to others and familiarized them with model interfaces. Performed TV segments, radio segments, and live interviews regarding current weather.

Offered student feedback and insight to the faculty-only Sustainability Council. Organized events and alumni panels on how to incorporate sustainability into one’s career. Recipient of Sustainability Award at College of Earth and Mineral Sciences’ Celebration of Undergraduate Engagement.

Led groups of 12-30 children aged 7-14 through various field trips, engineering projects, and games. Resolved conflicts through discussion and compromise and applied first aid techniques.

Led discussions and presented slideshows at weekly meetings (20+ members). Organized 9 styrofoam recycling drives and a climate change summit with other local groups. Managed club finances and aided in the process of making financial decisions.

Primary organizer of 10+ service events and collaborated with numerous more student and local organizations to connect high-achieving high-school students to service opportunities. Organized data of completion of opportunities in spreadsheet. Presented at monthly meetings of 130+ members.
