I am currently a full-time student at the University of Texas at Dallas majoring in healthcare management. I work part-time at Soccer Sparks where I’m training to be a skills soccer coach for kids. During the fall I also assist my father in coaching high school cross country at Fairhill in Dallas. While my future career plans involve the healthcare and medical fields, my time coaching sports has really helped me with communicating and leadership. Leadership will be a skill that will be beneficial not only for my career but also for others. As a result of coaching, my skills in being leader has benefited me in school group projects, volunteer work and during my time of being a life group leader at my local church.Through my time in school, the classes I have taken so far have helped me in aspects of critical thinking, quantitative research and making calculations. I’m currently a junior in credit hours and this semester, some courses that I have taken so far are Survey Oral and Tech-Based Communications, Local Government and Accounting. Outside of taking these courses for my major, I have strived to improve my communication and research skills. Taking these courses so far has greatly benefited my skills in communication and research, especially when it comes to group projects.
