Direct all financial activities for this enterprise to include accounting, billing and coding, contracting, budgeting, capital planning, pro forma development, financial analysis and reporting, tax reporting, compliance, physician compensation plan, FTE review and internal control oversight. Sponsor and lead Revenue Cycle improvement teams to address 47 opportunities resulting in significant improvements in POS collections, accurate registration, decreased denials, increased charge capture, and improved monitoring processes and reports. Example: Centralized call center, decreasing call hold times/dropped calls while increasing both patient and staff satisfaction. Develop a statistical model to assess and monitor the health of the revenue cycle and identifying key areas to focus improvements. Further incorporated it into a dynamic scenario analysis model. Overhaul the IT function to institute data back-up plans, security protocols, internal e-mail, and other improvements resulting in improved efficiency and increased effectiveness. Develop long term financing alternatives and strategy to secure capital funding for expansion projects and strategic objectives. Responsible for directing and overseeing the work of 70+ FTEs. Restructured management in collaboration with CEO to bring the practice locations into alignment, to increase coordination of services, to improve communication, and to create a highly functioning management team.

Consult with senior executive leadership and manage multiple large impact pilot projects aimed at integrating care, eliminating waste (LEAN), improving culture and employee engagement, leading change, and applying the Baldrige Performance Excellence Criteria. Design, implement and administer a system wide comprehensive Strategic Workforce Planning and Analysis model and toolset to mitigate risk for critical staff positions. Managed process improvement, project management, or data analysis engagements for internal customers to include: Operating Room Throughput; Pharmacy/Nursing for reducing medication errors; and Human Resources division for service redesign. Coordinate administration for both the annual employee satisfaction/engagement survey and the physician satisfaction survey, as well as managing the reporting and action planning process following receipt of the results.

• Financial management, budgeting, allocation and internal controls monitoring for the System’s Information Services Division (>$60M Operating; >$30M Capital): • Design and implement financial processes for this newly formed shared services division to include financial reporting, operational budgeting, key performance indicators dashboard and capital spending plans. • Scenario analysis using statistical methods (e.g., MonteCarlo Analysis) to determine outcome probability. • Financial analysis and modeling to assess the viability of proposed capital projects or the financial impact of proposed changes to current processes. • Long range capital planning, including implementation of decision support tools (StrataCap).

• Responsible for all aspects of this mid-sized partnership’s accounting, to include: • Perform day to day business tasks, general ledger maintenance, period closings, account reconciliations, financial statement analysis, budget preparation, tax compliance, PP&E tracking, inventory tracking, payroll administration and accounting system (GP Dynamics) maintenance. • Oversight (management and supervision), hiring, retention and training of accounting staff. • Design, implementation, and monitoring of an effective system of internal controls for this structurally complex multi-specialty medical practice, surgery center, and retail outlets. • Financial Statements, tax reporting (State DOR and Local B&O, Workers Comp, Federal Payroll 941, State Employment Security, personal property, etc.), Operational/productivity reporting, and budget/variance reporting using a variety of reporting tools and analysis techniques (Excel, Access, Frx Financial, etc.) • Advanced financial decision analysis using a variety of analytical/modeling techniques including Internal Rate of Return, Variance & Ratio Analysis, financial modeling and benchmarking, revenue and cash flow modeling, compensation modeling, and scenario analysis. • Oversaw the successful implementation of, and upgrades to, multiple computer applications (e.g., Great Plains Accounting, timekeeping). • Designed and built (programmed) custom integrations between business and accounting systems for seamless flow of financial data, subsequently reducing data entry cost and errors while increasing reporting and analysis capabilities.

• Conduct financial statement audits and prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for Washington based healthcare organizations and related healthcare entities. • Perform operational audits of the healthcare revenue cycle, claims processing, business systems, and internal control structures and procedures.
