Research Summary: Group used fungus (Rhizopus oligosporus) to treat waste products from ethanol production and processing the fungus into livestock feed+Work as part of a team to develop this innovative process+Suggest and implement new theories to enhance the process+Collect and analyze experimental data+Run bioreactor at Lincoln Way Energy (ethanol production facility)

I served as a laboratory research assistant. I assisted virologists studying Equine Infectious Anemia Virus (EIAV), which is an animal model of HIV. I have participated in research first hand. My main project included testing for the neutralization effectivity of certain antibodies against different viral strains. I also maintain laboratory equipment and prepare necessary solution and stocks.
