I managed a power lab for the University of Idaho for five years, which gave me the opportunity to work with faculty, outside engineers and students of various nationalities. My duties included technical searches, installing relays, checking communications networks, troubleshooting and fixing problems as soon as possible, scheduling use and inspecting the setup. I documented changes and wrote a trouble shooting manual for the Model Power System to be used by professors, teacher’s assistants and students. I worked with teaching assistants to set up and create new labs for the Power System Protection and Relaying class. I set up a routine maintenance schedule to keep everything working properly.

My responsibilities were to perform routine scientific analysis on soil samples and to prepare water or tissue samples for analysis. In the lab I used Excel spreadsheets to record data and make calculations then I entered the results into a laboratory data information management system to create reports for clients.
