If there is one thing I have leant from the pandemic, its life is for living, D. H. Lawrence's quote 'Life is ours to be spent, not to be saved' says it all.During the pandemic, I bought a caravan and have got two dogs🐶. The wife and I have always been keen walkers, especially while on holiday, so this new lifestyle is ideal for us both. There is nothing better than walking in the countryside away from the hustle-and-bustle of a town. I have been married to my beautiful wife for 19 years now and together for 30 years. I have daughter and son and two grandsons so spending time with them is more important to me since my health scare as my career has always come first in the past. When younger, I was always into sports, I played for the school's 5 aside football and cricket teams so this gave me a firm foundation for my career, I work well in a team but also by myself. Later I got into weight training but I haven't been to the gym for 18 months and you can tell! 😂I was a normal boy and not interested in school work so I left with only average GCSE grades and it was a culture shock for me, returning to college in 2010 to complete my health & safety qualifications. My father and his brother were felt roofers when I was at school so I spent many Saturdays going to work with them, on roofs and smelling red hot Bitumen and even now when I smell that scent it reminds me of the past. I assume that's where I got my love of 'working at heights' from.I am motivated by my current career path as its a great feeling knowing you have helped keep your colleagues safe but I couldn't do that without the support of my peers in the management team. Please feel free to connect as I am sure we can support each other in making our businesses a safe place to work!
