About Karen Beninati

Founder and CEO of WeVillage: Flexible childcare centers. Skills in production management, managing large budgets, team building/management, quality control, and brand integrity and adherence. Modeled for seven years from 1991 to 1998 all over the world with agencies, such as Le Agence, Talents, Paulo Tomei Producer of independent feature film Poolhall Junkies. It starred legend Christopher Walken (Pulp Fiction) Chazz Palminteri (Usual Suspects) and Alison Eastwood. The movie was nominated for Best Sports Film at the 2002 ESPY awards. She formed High Maintenance Films, Inc. (HMF) in 2002. Her multitasking pace did not stop during her two-year tenure heading HMF in LA.produced the feature film Black Cloud, starring Julia Jones, Tim McGraw, and Peter Greene. It was written and directed by Rick Shroder and released in 2004. She then produced a short for Fox Searchlight called Behind, written by Gordy Hoffman (winner of the 2002 Sundance Screenwriting Award) and directed by David Brooks. This was followed by post-production of an independent horror film, Cursed. Directed by Shawn Papazzian, the film starred David White (Mercy Streets), Vicellous Reon Shannon (The Hurricane, Senseless), and Patrick Bauchau (Panic Room, The Cell). Karen executive produced Downloading Nancy, which was at the 2008 sundance film festival in competition. Her phenomenal success in managing big-budget projects, production management, and post-production scheduling and management of deliverables carried her into producing for Nike. The also continues work as an independent production consultant for writers and directors.Currently working on building WeVillage into a successful franchise with multiple locations!Specialties: Production, design, marketing, networking, film development, start ups, eco spaces.
