I am Professor of Organization Leadership in the Department of Leadership at the Air Command and Staff College (ACSC/DEL) at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. Prior to working at ACSC, I served 16 years at The University of Texas Permian Basin. At UTPB I spent 7 years as Dean of Undergraduate Success, 4 years as Chair of the Department of Communication, and I served in a number of other administrative roles. Earlier in my career, I served as a Foreign Service Officer in Mexico City and Abuja, Nigeria, and I was Secretary and Foreign Affairs Officer (GG-14) for the International Boundary and Water Commission (U.S.-Mexico). I hold a Ph.D. in Speech Communication from Texas A&M.I have deep expertise in in crisis communication, strategic communication, technical writing, and organizational message design (both internal and external). I also have a deep familiarity with U.S. foreign operations. I have direct experience supervising both faculty and staff employees and extensive experience managing and developing budgets.
