In my function as staff scientist I am working with a focus on control system and control system matters. This includes the management of the interface to the control system group of GSI, development of CRYRING-specific JAVA software tools in the control system software framework, database-based tools for the management of Accelerator hardware and the implementation of FAIR guidelines and processes for team.Concerning scientific matters I work on the field of laser spectroscopy in a cross-departamental team of atomic physicists.

As aide to the division head "Stored Beams" I am responsible for the effective execution of division-internal meetings, consulting and support in management techniques, optimization of processes to achieve operational excellence. Furthermore improvement of communication internally and externally. Design and provision of IT-Tools to operationalize, implement and support tools supporting communication strategies.As department team member I am responsible for machine-related configuration management of the Cryring machine-project, especially to align with central CM team. Furthermore to improve and provide exchange platforms for project related documents and documentation which I implement using Sharepoint 2013. Interface and coordinator for atomic physics experiments at Cryring with focus on laser spectroscopy.

As department head I led a team responsible to optimize processes and communication aspects for and within the project execution of the FAIR project (see https://www.gsi.de/en/research/fair.htm). The department/team is part of the FAIR@GSI project office division.The focus of the team were processes at the interface to the FAIR civil construction unit.

As Continuous Improvement expert I am conducting workshops with the goal of improving internal working processes to increase team and inter-team process performance. Additionally one of the main gosals of a CI expert is to act as lean multiplier and consultant to help the organizations and teams to reduce waste (in the sense of lean) and to work more efficiently.

As a trainer I conducted a number (~15) of 3-10 day classroom courses explaining the LEAN implementation at SAP. As a coach I coached and helped software development teams to get used to the process coming with LEAN and SCRUM. As an evangelist I support the change management process coming with lean and try to convince colleagues of the advantages of lean and to surface obstacles preventing successful adoption.
