A project manager, lead rigger, trainer, aerial choreographer, safety officer, logistics coordinator, organizer, and part-time therapist: As a lead Flight Director, I am responsible for the training of other Flight Directors with the most up-to-date industry processes, procedures, and compliance. We project manage shows from design concept, to installation of the equipment, to training and maintenance of the flight systems, to the choreography of each show. On site, we rig all of the equipment (this may involve rigging, automation, motors, programming, operating heavy equipment, etc. etc.), train all the performers and technicians, and choreograph the flights for an entire production. As the Safety Officer, it is my responsibility to maintain up-to-date compliance and training of the company's staff - Our team is OSHA 30 certified, AWP certified, forklift certified, and First aid, CPR, and AED trained. We often deal with a lot of fears in our industry - whether that be inspectors, fears of heights, fear of a deadline, etc. etc. - so we each develop and maintain skills to professionally navigate difficult conversations.
