My key responsibilities include supporting teachers in the classrooms, supervising college students, and administrating daily programming for the school to meet best practices for child development. Part of my work includes mentoring college students who are conducting research with young children and working within the classrooms. Other major duties are related to management of physical operations of the Child Study Center in daily routines and in relationship to other departments within the College to meet compliance standards for state agencies. The Child Study Center is a research site for the Psychology Department of Wellesley College. The Center also provides research opportunities for college students across disciplines that focus on the study of young children.

Working at the Child Study Center, my responsibilities include developing emergent curriculum for a 3-4 year old classroom where I am the Lead Teacher. I will also mentor new teachers and supervise college students who work to support me and the children in my classroom. The core focus of this program is a play based developmental philosophy, allowing maximum freedom for the individual child to grow and learn as his or her interests and strengths develop. Teaching children in grades 4-6 Hebrew language. This work includes gramatical and root-based learning with an emphasis on reading and writing. Teaching Jewish Life Cycle, Bible, HIstory, Jewish law and ethics in grades 5-6. 7th grade community service work- designing individual goals/ plans for community service work. Focus on social justice and humanitarian issues is integrated into class projects and programs. These are designed by the students to be implemented with the school and their community.

Teach children ages 2-3 within preschool classroom. This includes curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementation of all core academic areas of education. Essential elements of this program are comprised of developmentally appropriate practice for 2-3 year olds. In addition to academic subjects of math, science, literacy, and history/ current events, this program also provides art, music, Judaic studies, and cooking. As an extension of the academic day, there are also enrichment elective courses that support gross motor, cognitive learning, social development, and communication skills for the child.

Framingham, Ma

Developed and a new transitional Kindergarten program to be an expansion for an existing preschool/ child care center. This program was designed for children ages 5-6 who would be entering kindergarten the following school year. The program was created with a full range of academic subjects including math, science, literacy, and history/ current events. The program was designed with art as a central focus to facilitate and integrate other core academic areas of learning. Also included was music, movement, and cooking. The curriculum was designed to support an emergent style of learning fostering a child-centered environment.The training component involved supervising and training educational and support staff. Some of the key concept areas for training were: curriculum planning and webbing, classroom management, behavioral modeling and communication, literacy-based learning, process over product in your lessons, art appreciation, non-verbal classroom communication, and successful circle time

Working with high school students to use elements of vehicular laws in application with ethics. This course compares and contrasts Massachusetts driving laws to Jewish law, and its applications in modern life in our communities.

Designing Toddler Curriculum for new Toddler program to begin January 2010 within an existing Preschool Setting. Focus will be child-centered with elements of cognitive developmental approach. This program will maximize creativity, expoloration, and play as the vehicles for learning and development. Children entering this program in January will be at least 2 years of age.

Designed Toddler Curriculum for program that includes children ages 2 -3 years of age. Working with toddlers in classroom setting, using a cognitive developmental approach. This program used a creative exploration as an avenue to learning. Play and discovery were critical elements of the envrionment.
