Camp Wanapitei is Canada’s premier canoe tripping camp. For campers aged 7 to 18, it runs 2-week, 1-month and 2-month long canoe trips in Northern Ontario and Quebec, and in the Arctic. Henry led the Voyageur II in 2022, a 52-day white water canoe trip in Northwest Territories and Nunavut, and has previously led 10+ canoe trips at Wanapitei.Responsibilities included:• Leading and mentoring eight 18 year-olds, facilitating personal growth and character building• Proactively managing risk, ensuring safety, and taking decisive action in a remote, high-risk environment• Planning and packing of all food and gear for 52 days• Creating and communicating lessons on canoe trip skills over whole trip, encouraging a love of learning

General Fusion is a BC-based firm researching and developing a commercially-viable solution to nuclear fusion energy. Henry worked on the Plasma Injector (Pi3), a power plant-scale machine essential to General Fusion's plasma injection and compression scheme for commercial fusion energy.Responsibilities included:• Electrical and mechanical design, 3D-modelling (SolidWorks), materials purchasing, assembly and installation of key circuit elements on Pi3 power supply, an individual multi-month project• Safe design and conduct of a high vacuum research experiment for Pi3 involving hazardous materials• Design and prototyping of precision high vacuum mechanical parts for vacuum vessels

The Commerce and Engineering Environmental Conference (CEEC) is a 3-day, multi-disciplinary undergraduate conference on environmental sustainability that brings together delegates from universities across Canada. Responsibilities included:• Developing a vision and message for the conference• Leading a three-person outreach team to execute conference vision by researching and securing diverse, high-caliber speakers on sustainability and the environment• Coordinate all finances and travel logistics for eight speakers from across Canada (Vancouver, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Toronto)Henry confirmed notable speakers including Tom Rand (Arctern Ventures), John Brace (Northland Power), Linda Solomon Wood ( National Observer) and Tzeporah Berman (Stand.Earth). As Speakers' Director, the Queen's University Commerce Society awarded CEEC the "Best Speaker Lineup" for the 2017-2018 year.
