Ahead of each CITES CoP, IUCN and TRAFFIC work intensely to produce the IUCN/TRAFFIC Analyses of the Proposals to Amend the CITES Appendices. My role within this team was to undertake an analysis of a number of proposals, to provide an objective assessment of the trade and biological criteria which they are based upon. Key duties included: - Liaising with experts to determine the answers to specific questions raised by each proposal. - Utilising the available literature to gather relevant information. - Performing analyses of wildlife trade databases. - Synthesising all of the relevant information, in the form of a concise written report.
