Global Ambassador Program & Non-Core LeadUber Jul 2017 - Mar 2019San Francisco, California, UsBuilt this program.One of my biggest achievements while at Uber was changing the way promo codes/couponing/discounting worked saving the company millions and increasing retention rates/LTV. I was the first performance marketing manager to establish a re-occuring pattern of multi trip/order discounts. When I started this Global Ambassdor program, we inherited partners (Ambassadors) from a different (CPR) program that were using promo codes like "$20 off your first ride" or "15 Euro off your first Uber Eats order" (in Europe). This was standard practice from the early days of growth at Uber, but since the companies had matured I could sense there was little incrementality in this strategy. We then changed the discounts for existing and any new partners to amounts like $5 off your first 2 rides, or $5 off your first 3 orders with Uber Eats. We then progressed to different tiers of offers (see my Overstock.com experience) with lower discounts. For example, $3 off your first 5 orders with Uber Eats, or $3 off your first 3 rides with Uber. What this did was lower Uber's costs and increase LTV. Costs were slashed and cut in half or more from a $20 discount to a $10 max discount for thousands. LTV increased because the more the user rides or eats, the more they can become accustom to the platform and enjoy it. Lastly, it slightly discouraged those who would only use a coupon once and never come back. We encouraged other teams to follow suit across the world. Eventually another team implemented this strategy on the website and listed similar promo codes with even more science to back up the strategy. - https://www.uber.com/us/en/promo/Managed 2 team members and 3 agency partners -

Diving deep into analysis, I used metrics and data to understand customer paths and which affiliates could maximize net income for Overstock.com.Created the first ever "Deal-of-the-day" page called "Flash Deals" for Overstock.com. Tested a static page of manually curated products as another promotion for affiliate partners to promote. This proved quite successful and we later included the webpage team, analytics, and others to automatically curate most of the products on the page. - https://www.overstock.com/flash-dealsCreated whole new couponing/discount model that drove higher AOV, increased net income, and consequently better customer LTV. We were successful by understanding the customer path and offering tiered threshold discount amounts to meet the needs of different customer behaviors. Customers coming from certain partners already had something in their cart, so how do we get them to convert and convert optimally? For example, with a low AOV purchase, we had a discount that was net income positive yet removed barriers to complete purchase (free shipping). For high AOV purchases we had threshold discount amounts that encouraged customers to add something to their cart, like an ottoman for a couch, or a lamp with a desk ($10 off $150+ to $150 off $1000+ orders). I took a dormant coupon page that hadn't been touched in years, revised it with this strategy, and saw great success. This page also ranked well among popular deal searches from customers which competed with affiliate partners. This saved the company money by providing a way to offer a profitable discount to customers, while not paying affiliate commissions, and also hopefully leading to more loyalty to Overstock.
