Prepares and obtains FAA approval for the Dispatcher training program including initial, recurrent, transition, and differences. Instructs and/or monitors all instruction for Dispatch training sessions. Develops training programs and methods for enhancement of Dispatch training. Maintains records and information as required by FARs. Instrumental in implementing International training and computer based training at Southwest Airlines.

Taught a three credit hour preparation course for the FAA ATP Dispatchers written exam.

Responsible for developing recurrent and new hire training curriculum. Schedules and instructs recurrent training of all qualified dispatchers and initial training of new hires. Performs dispatcher competency checks', direct the work of other dispatchers, counsels and monitors employee performance, and acts on assignments from management. Responsible for ensuring the dispatchers are properly trained on operational issues and; is a point of reference for questions or problems that arise among the dispatch group. Air Traffic Coordinator: coordinating with the FAA to manage air traffic flows. Dispersing information to dispatchers about problem areas within the ATC system, and problem solving for specific flights. Dispatcher: assembling information for flight including: fuel loads, aircraft routings, weather, and flight releases. Responsible for flight following and ensuring safe operations.

Responsible for staffing flights with pilots and flight attendants in accordance with FAA regulations and union contracts.
