Director Of Design, Ralph By Ralph LaurenRalph Lauren May 2014 - Feb 2016New York, New YorkA year after I was recruited to join Chris Birch’s new brand C.Wonder, I was approached by a senior executive at Ralph Lauren, and asked to return and take the lead on spearheading and designing a contemporary dress brand in a white space, an entirely new line for Ralph Lauren's brand portfolio.Although my title was Design Director, my role was more of a Creative Director role. I led the charge in conceptualizing the vision for the new brand, where it would exist in the marketplace and most importantly, identified the personality and style of this new Ralph Lauren woman. Over the course of 6 months I helped to build the design team, we then created the initial Spring Concept and Collection. The first presentation to Mr. Lauren included 3 deliveries of concept rigs, fabrics, sketches and the top 60 looks, worn by all of Ralph’s favorite models. RALPH by Ralph Lauren was re-born.As director of the brand my daily tasks were managing all design direction: concept, print, color, fabric development, product development, lead fittings, traveled to overseas factories to ensure collection was ready for bulk. Partnered with creative services to create new Ralph by Ralph Lauren showroom. Lead season showroom buildouts and styling for all walkthru with Ralph Lauren and sales teams. Lead models castings and styled all photography assets. Participated in sales pitches for the launch of the new brand, to account like Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Intermix, Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s. -
